Year 6 - 1

Welcome to year 6. 

 

Homework is set Monday, Wednesday and Friday. 

 

Monday due Wednesday: English or Comprehension and weekly spellings sent home.  

Wednesday due Friday: Maths on Mymaths 

Friday due in the following Monday : Grammar 

Reading and  times tables revision is encouraged every night. 

 

PE kits are needed every Wednesday and children can also wear them on 'Fun Fit Fridays'. 

We are Musicians!

Year 6-1 have been studying the Mariachi music of Mexico.  We have learned how to play and sing 'La Bamba' and we have enjoyed every single minute of it.

We are Historians!

Year 6 History - We had a special visitor, Mrs Young, who told the children about her experiences as a WWII evacuee. The children prepared questions in advance and gained lots of new information. Thank you.

We are Mental Health Champions!

 

World Mental Health Day 2019

 

The children took part in a BBC live lesson to highlight the importance of children's mental health. 

 

"We have many resources at our disposal in school to help us cope in trying circumstances.  We know we can talk to any adult and they will always listen and help us.  There's nothing we should worry about." - Year 6-1 student
