We are celebrating our Catholic faith!

Year 3 Nativity - The Donkey Seller

We performed a fantastic class assembly about 'Giving All'. We thought that this had a wonderful link to Lent and enjoyed sharing the different ways we have given all in our lives.

We have been thinking about how Christians show love. We looked at Millais’ ‘Christ in the House of his Parents’ painting and explored the different ways that love is shown through freeze frames and thought tracking.

We thought carefully about prayer and how it is used to give thanks, show love, and seek forgiveness and guidance. We worked together to write our own prayers and added them to our Prayer Tree.

We are RSHE Ambassadors!

We have been learning about the dangers of smoking and how people can remain smoke free.

Black History Month

As part of Black History Month, we learnt about Rosa Parks and thought about how brave she must have been to do what she did.

We have also been learning about the importance of Black History Month through our reading comprehensions.

World Mental Health Day

For World Mental Health Day, Ms Thomas has been teaching us all about the benefits and healing effects of massage and aromatherapy.

We listened to the Year 6 Mental Health leaders read ‘My Princess Boy’ by Cheryl Kilodavis. 📖

Anxiety Workshop with Felicity Gray

3-1 have been learning all about anxiety; the feelings it evokes, how it manifests and effective coping mechanisms for it.

We are scientists!

As part of our Animals, Including Humans topic, we created healthy balanced meals for different clients based on their nutritional needs.

We have been investigating the following question: Can people with longer femurs jump further?

We are mathematicians!

We are writers!

We are word study experts!

We examined the word ‘exchange’ and how it can be used in different contexts.

We explored the link between vocabulary we have been using in our science lessons.

We are readers!

We really enjoyed reading ‘Oh The Places You’ll Go’ by Dr Seuss during our first day of Year 3! 📖

We are historians!

We have been learning all about Stone Age tools! In groups, we worked together to research different tools from the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic Stone Age.

Year 3 had a fantastic time at the Liverpool World Museum learning about the Stone, Bronze and Iron Age (for our current history topic) and Ancient Egypt (for our Summer term topic).
