Reopening of Liverpool Schools

Reopening of School for Y6

Dear Parents

This details and arrangements for your child's return to school starting Monday 22nd June are listed below:

  • The school day will run from 9.00-3.00pm
  • Bubble 1: 15 children will be based in the hall.
  • Bubble 2:  6 children will be based in class 4-2
  • Y6 teachers have chosen the 2 bubbles, with careful consideration given to friendship groups.
  • Lunch time will be 12.00-1.00pm
  • Pupils should bring a packed lunch and water bottle clearly labelled. Lunch will be provided for pupils entitled to free school meals.
  • Pupils will have a desk/work station allocated to them labelled with their name. Pupils are to remain in these places ensuring they respect the 2 metre distance rule.
  • Bubble 1 & 2 will use separate toilets
  • Hand sanitizer and hand washing will be encouraged throughout the day.
  • Pupils should not bring a bag or a pencil case to school. This is to avoid cross contamination from home to school and vice versa. Stationary will be provided for your child, labelled for their sole use.
  • One parent should drop their child at the school gate, following the 2 metre markings on the floor. Please avoid overcrowding at the school gates.
  • The main gate will be used in the morning and the side double gates closest to the annexe at home time. At home time please wait at the 2 metre markings on the floor, as you reach the front of the gate your child will walk to meet you.
  • Parents are not allowed onsite at all, this follows the 'no extra adults on site' rule. If you need to speak to a member of staff please phone or email.
  • Pupils should wear their PE kit and trainers. On hot days, suncream should be applied.
  • Morning sessions will cover aspects of Y6 summer term curriculum and afternoon sessions will cover emotional, mental & physical health, PSHE and ART.

We are really looking forward to welcoming your child back to school. All the above and these changes to the school day and learning will be discussed upon their return so all pupils fully understand these new procedures.

Take care and we will see you Monday.

Mrs Hurst

Today we have been informed by Steve Reddy, having consulted with Cheshire and Merseyside Directors of Public Health, that as from 22nd June, it is now deemed safe to reopen for Y6 pupils. We are contacting those parents who originally accepted a place for 15th June, which was postponed, to see if they are still requiring a place so we can progress our plans for reopening. Our infant school will continue to provide for key workers and vulnerable children. If Y6 parents could email me at to either accept or reject their place, we would really appreciate it. Mrs Hurst

NOTICE FOR Y6 PARENTS (16:25, 8/6/20) :

Dear Parents,

Following guidance from Liverpool City Council, it is with regret to inform you that we will NOT be reopening for Year 6 pupils on 15th June as previously planned. Unfortunately, we do not, at this time, have a set date when school will reopen other than to tell you as soon as it is safe to do so. We will continue to keep you informed via this page on our website and twitter @StCeciliascjs. In the meantime, support with online home learning will continue via class pages on the children's page and pupils can continue to send in their work at

Stay safe everyone.
