Sports day 2016
During culture week we looked at two African Fables; 'The Tortoise and the Baboon' and 'The Up-side Down Lion'.
Both fables had a very important lesson to be learnt. This is also called a moral.
We listened very carfeully to the story then we re-enacted the fables in small groups. Children used lots of expression, actions and made sure their voices were loud and clear. There were also prizes for the best performers in each class!
You can find the two stories below in Powerpoint format if you would like to read them again!
This week, as part of our Come and See topic on 'Community' Fr Conor came to Year 4 to discuss his role in the Parish community. The children asked excellent questions and Father even managed to be prompted to give us a rendition of his favourite Elvis gospel song to answer Alex's question about why God putJesus on the Earth to die.
Father left us with this thought...
He asked the children "Who is The Church community?" Then he wrote onto the board CH__CH. He asked the children what letters were missing to which they replied "UR". The point was made that we are all The Church.
Thank you Father for a lovely visit.
